"Isaac Amsden's name spelled Isacke Amsden appears in the inventory of the estate of Nathaniel Sparhawk, who died June 27, 1647, which would indicate that he arrived in this country previous to 1654 by seven years at least.
"We know from the administration papers of his estate that he owned land on the south side of the river to the extent of 12 acres, and most likely this was the Charles River. Also that he followed the trade of a mason at Cambridge, Mass."
