GENERAL AFFIDAVIT

State of Ohio, County of Montgomery, SS:

In the matter of Pension Claim No. 617033 of Wid. Alfred Focht, late of Company F., 131st Regiment of Ohio Inft. Vols.

On this 20 day of March 1903, before me, a Notary Public within and for the County and State aforesaid, personally appeared Daniel Basore, age 78 years, whose post office address is Farmersville, County of Montgomery, State of Ohio, well known to me to be reputable and entitled to credit, and who, being duly sworn according to law, upon his oath declares, that he was late a member of Company F, 131st OVI, and was well and personally acquainted with Alfred Focht, who was a Private of the same Company. I knew him well when he was enlisted. He was a young man of excellent health, and of a lively nature, and full of fun when we went to Baltimore. When we came home he looked bad and run down in flesh. It has been so long that I cannot call up all the particulars of his case. I only know he was in poor health when he came home. I did not live in the neighborhood with him after the War.

Daniel Basore

Subscribed and sworn to before me, this 20th day of March 1903, and I certify that the contents of the foregoing affidavit were duly read and fully made known to affiants before making oath to the same, and that I have no interest in this matter.

[signed]
Robert Gandorf, N.P.
