GENERAL AFFIDAVIT

State of Ohio, County of Montgomery, SS:

In the matter of Pension Claim No. 617033 of Wid. Alfred Focht late of Company F., 131st Regiment Ohio Inft. Vols.

On this 20 day of March 1903, before me, a Notary Public within and for the County and State aforesaid, personally appeared Christian A. Coler, age 76 years, whose post office address is Farmersville, County of Montgomery, State of Ohio, well known to me to be reputable and entitled to credit, and who, being duly sworn according to law, upon his oath declares, that he was late a First Lieut. of Co. F., 131st Ohio Inft. Vols., and was well acquainted with Alfred Focht, who was a member of his Co. He remembers him as a young man of good health at enlistment. I remember at the time he came home he was emaciated and run down in flesh. I cannot recall anything of a specific nature, only he was in poor health and thin in flesh when we came home. I had so much to do as I did most of the clerical work for Company, and did not have opportunity to mingle with the men and I had no opportunity after discharge to see him.

Christian A. Coler

Subscribed and sworn to before me, this 20th day of March, 1903, and I certify that the contents of the foregoing affidavit were duly read and fully made known to affiants before making oath to the same, and that I have no interest in this matter.

[signed]
Robert Gandorf, N.P.
