"in 1810 he removed from Lowville, N.Y., to Buffalo, N.Y., where he was one of the first settlers. He was a sufferer from the War of 1812, and was driven from home by the British and Indians on the morning of Dec. 30, 1813, when Buffalo was burned. He was magistrate of Niagara Co., and held numerous offices in the old town of Buffalo and Black Rock. He and wife are buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery."
