"Edwin J. Hiatt received a good common-school education at the public schools of the county, came to Winchester in early boyhood, and has been here ever since. For some three years he was in the boot and shoe business with his father. In 1887 he began the livery business in Winchester and has since continued the same, meeting with much success. He is an expert in his judgment of stock, and ever since he began this business he has been buying and selling horses. . . . Fraternally Mr. Hiatt is a member of the I.O.O.F and in politics a Republican."
