Mrs. Amalie (Mollie) Elsie Lisette Paul, was born Dec. 2, 1875, near Warrenton, as the daughter of Henry H. and Henrietta Meyer. Her father was accidentally killed when she was two years old. She was baptized and confirmed in the Warrenton Evangelical church.
On Sept. 4, 1894, she was united in marriage to Fred G. Paul, of Wright City. Their married life was spent on a farm south of that city. To this union were born twelve children, one daughter, Ira, dying in infancy.
The deceased passed away after an illness of three months' duration on Sunday, Dec. 23, at 4:00 p.m. at the age of 53 years and 21 days.
Besides the bereaved husband the following mourn her departure: Irene, Mrs. G. L. Hicks, St. Louis; Iona, Mrs. N. C. Schultz, New Franklin; Fredel C., St. Louis; Firdel, student at Eden Seminary, Webster Groves; Sara, Mrs. A. H. Wegener, Staunton, Ill.; Ivalette, Fayette; Follis, Farley, Fenworth, and Festus Wade at home; three sons-in-law, G. L. Hicks, Rev. N. C. Schultz, and Rev. A. H. Wegener; two grandchildren, Grady Lee Hicks, Jr., and Carol Irene Schultz; three brothers, H. J. Meyer of Truesdale, William and Chris Meyer of Warrenton and many other relatives and a host of friends.
In the death of Mrs. Paul the family has lost a loving, kind and affectionate wife, mother, grandmother and sister, whose Christian spirit was at all times manifest in the sacrifice and interest for her family and loved ones. The community has lost a citizen who was at all times active in all upbuilding affairs and her place can never be filled. And all who knew the departed cannot help but feel the deep loss that loved ones and the community have suffered. May her memory be cherished. --G. N.
